Face Shields for First Responders
Ingrid and the Centurion Team moved into action with Robert Vinci to support first responders. Ingrid is an advocate for safety and security. The Wayland and Marlborough Fire Department receives donation of 3D printed face shields when they were in short supply. Face Shields for First Responders is a campaign started in April to provide personal protective equipment to fire departments in the Metrowest area. Robert Vinci, an engineer, used a 3D printer to make the customized shields to donate to the department. First responders will use the face shields to protect themselves from exposure to the coronavirus as they respond to calls involving people who may be reporting symptoms in line with COVID-19 or may have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case. The face shield is a secondary level of safety protection and we must protect the men and women who are placing themselves in harms way.
